National Academies Virtual Workshop: Imposter Syndrome

May 19 @ 12:00pm-3:00pm

The National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine will host a virtual workshop titled:  “Imposter Syndrome: What Is It and What Impact Does it Have?”

First described in 1978, the Imposter Syndrome is described as “a person’s fear of “being discovered as a fraud or non-deserving professional, despite their demonstrated talent and achievements.” Research on and attention to this topic has grown substantially over the past decade and recently “some scholars have raised questions about whether imposter syndrome … should be addressed at an individual or organizational level and whether reported experiences of imposter syndrome may actually reflect an individual’s experience with bias and discrimination.”  These questions and more will be addressed during the virtual workshop.

The workshop is free, but registration is required.  Register here.
